Congratulations to Professor Morwenna Wood, who has received the prestigious William Cullen Prize from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
Professor Wood is our Director of Medical Education and was awarded the William Cullen Prize for her considerable contribution to both patient care and supporting and training doctors across Scotland.
William Cullen was a physician in Edinburgh in the 18th century and became president of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He kept copies of all the letters he wrote and these letters have now been made available online as a result of a collaboration between the RCPE and the University of Glasgow School of Critical Studies.
Professor Wood was presented with a framed copy of one of Cullen's letters from Vice President of the RCPE, and Medicine of the Elderly Consultant in Fife, Dr Sue Pound.
