We are celebrating the crucial role played by our biomedical scientists on Thursday 20th June with an event in the hospital foyer to mark Biomedical Science Day 2019.
Did you know that NHS Fife's laboratories process more than 750,000 specimens each year? Biomedical science plays an increasing crucial role in modern healthcare and are involved in over 70% of diagnoses.
The theme of the day is Superheroes and there will be activities for all ages to demonstrate behind the scenes in the laboratories, combining the disciplines of Microbiology, Cellular Histopathology and Blood Sciences. We'll even have a mock lab set up with chocolate mousse to resemble poop and apple juice for urine!
