Stratheden Hospital's Bayview Ward has taken delivery of a new Tovertafel.
A Tovertafel uses infrared light to project light and sound and can be specifically programmed to support people living with moderate or advanced dementia.
Dementia causes difficulties with qualities such as problem solving and engagement and the Tovertafel provides a creative way to give physical and cognitive stimulation.
Crucially, the Tovertafel also creates a fun environment and can assist in meaningful interaction between those living with dementia and their families.
The Tovertafel was brought in following the amazing fundraising efforts of Bayview staff and it has already brought great joy to patients.
