Online Prospectus Launched

Through a partnership between NHS Fife’s Practice and Professional Development Team and web developers, Factory73, an online prospectus has been developed, bringing together a huge variety of learning and development opportunities available to nursing and midwifery staff, as well as the allied health professions.

Healthcare staff must continually enhance and develop their skills throughout their career, learning new clinical techniques and developing professionally to keep pace with the latest advances in care and treatment.

Glasgow-based web developers, Factory73 worked with NHS Fife’s Practice and Professional Development Team to develop and launch a new online prospectus. The new ‘Learning For Life’ prospectus brings together a huge variety of learning and development opportunities available to nursing and midwifery staff, as well as the allied health professions.

‘Learning For Life’ is intended to help staff advance professionally by offering a wide range of courses delivered in a range of formats to suit the needs of everyone. As the prospectus is public-facing, those considering a career in NHS Fife can also see the development opportunities that would be available to them.

Doreen Young, NHS Fife’s Head of Practice and Professional Development, said of the new initiative: “The way that we care and treat patients evolves over time. It’s vital therefore that we support our clinicians to continually develop their clinical and professional skills across the entirety of their career.

“Through the development of our new ‘Learning For Life’ online prospectus, we’re making it easier than ever for clinical staff working in Fife to see the full range of learning opportunities available to them to develop their practice, which ultimately benefits the patients in our care.

“Working in the NHS, we know that our greatest asset is our staff and by supporting people to develop and enhance their skills, it also helps makes NHS Fife a more attractive  place to work at a time when attracting experienced staff is more competitive than ever.”

The online prospectus was formally launched by National Clinical Director, Professor Jason Leitch, during his recent visit to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

The development of the new prospectus was made possible through NHS Fife’s partnership with web developers, Factory73. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Factory73 helped design and build the new NHS Fife’s website, which is continues to maintain.

Factory73’s Client Services Director, Colin Hardie, said: “As a digital partner to NHS Fife, Factory73 is proud to have played a pivotal role in the development of their new ground-breaking online prospectus.

“Our collaboration on this and other projects over the past three years has been a journey of innovation and commitment to excellence, with NHS Fife's forward-thinking approach in embracing digital solutions consistently setting new benchmarks in the field.
