Acute illness management (AIM)

Course Description

The aim of this session is to enable registered healthcare practitioners to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to manage acutely ill patients in hospital settings safely and effectively.

This course covers:
Why nurses fail to recognise and treat acutely ill patients.
The use of track and trigger tools and escalation pathways.
Individual roles in the management of acutely ill patients.

Prior to attending this session:
The AIM course manual and online learning resources will be sent to you approximately 4 weeks prior to the simulated session. Participants are expected to have read through the manual and completed the on-line learning resources prior to attending the simulated session.
