NHS Fife: NHS education for Scotland, facilitation of learning programme helping others to facilitate learning in the workplace

Course Description

Clinical practice education is an essential aspect of staff learning and development, enabling practitioners to forge links between theory and practice. The delivery of effective clinical practice education relies on practitioners who possess rich clinical experience and who are competent in facilitating learning. The NES Facilitation of Learning programme will equip practitioners with underpinning theories, methodologies and strategies related to adult learning. This will include the ability to apply a range of tools to facilitate effective learning, supporting practitioners to plan learning activities that promote positive teaching and
learning experiences. The programme can help to build capability and capacity and provides robust governance for education delivered.

What is the aim of the sessions:

To bring together a range of healthcare practitioners to explore teaching methodologies and strategies that can be applied within the workplace setting.

What is the structure of the programme:

This is a blended learning programme consisting of 2 parts:
Completion of Units 1-4 of the NES Facilitation of Learning digital resource
