Urinary Catheterisation (adult)

Course Description

This programme is for all Healthcare Practitioners band 3 and above aims to promote competence and safe practice in Urinary Catheterisation (adult) – including male urethral catheterisation, female urethral catheterisation.  This programme also covers suprapubic catheterisation for Registered Healthcare Practitioners band 5 and above.  This programme will replace the existing model of face to face training and will consist of an eLearning programme and work based skill acquisition to attain competence.

This clinical skills programme will support Healthcare Practitioners (band 3 and above) in their studying, enabling them to work at their own pace while learning about Urinary Catheterisation (adult) in the context of their own practice.

Prior requirements

In addition to completion of the Urinary Catheterisation (adult) paper-based pack, Healthcare Practitioners must also complete a number of course prior requirements (pre-requisites) listed opposite.
