Venepuncture

Taking blood from an arm

Course Description

This programme is for Healthcare Practitioners band 2 and above and aims to provide competence and safe practice in Venepuncture (adult).  This programme will replace the existing model of face to face training and will consist of an eLearning programme and work based skill acquisition to attain competence.

This clinical skills programme will support Healthcare Practitioners (band 2 and above) in their studying, enabling them to work at their own pace while learning about safe practice in Venepuncture (adult) in the context of their own practice.

Healthcare Practitioners must successfully complete the NHS Fife: Venepuncture (adult) eLearning which can be found on TURAS (or on request the paper-based pack).

Prior requirements

In addition to completion of the eLearning (or pack on request), Healthcare Practitioners must also complete a number of course prior requirements (pre-requisites).

The self declaration form process must be followed for this course.
