From remembering essential medications to protecting against sun exposure and insect bites,
this campaign reminds us that NHS Inform is the go-to source for trusted summer health advice.
Dr Siama Latif, Associate Medical Director at NHS 24, said: “Summer is a time when many of us are travelling, spending more time outdoors, and enjoying a break from our usual routines. While that’s great for wellbeing, it can also bring an increased risk of issues such as sunburn, insect bites, allergies and minor injuries. We are asking everyone to pack, plan, and protect this summer. By remembering to pack essential medications, planning ahead with simple remedies at home, and protecting yourself and others in the sun, you can avoid many common summer health problems.
As well as a dedicated summer advice page, NHS inform provides symptom checkers offering quick guidance for a range of common conditions. These tools can help people to safely manage symptoms at home or understand when to seek further care.
Dr Latif added:
“NHS inform is available 24 hours a day, providing reliable, NHS-approved advice whenever you need it. It’s regularly reviewed by healthcare professionals, so you can trust the information you’re using. Taking a few simple steps to pack, plan and protect can help you stay well and enjoy your summer.”
