Flu Vaccination
The flu vaccine is a safe and effective vaccine, and gives the best protection against flu. It’s offered every year for free by the NHS to help protect people at risk of flu and its complications. It will also help reduce the risk of you spreading flu to others. Adults who are eligible will be invited for their annual flu vaccine by letter, usually between October and March.
Drop-in clinics are also available throughout the flu season for those who qualify for the free vaccine, details of which are usually made available on our webpages and social media channels.
Initial invitation letters
Letters inviting those over 65 in Fife to have their annual flu vaccination have now been issued. These went out on the 19th of August 2022. NHS Fife would like to point out that a number of the letters send out to those living in Dunfermline carried the wrong postal code for one of the vaccination venues, Lynebank Hospital. The correct postcode for Lynebank Hospital is KY11 8JH, not as was stated KY11 4UW. We apologise for this error, and for any inconvenience caused.
If you are in this category and have not yet received a letter, you can contact the National Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013.
