Blood cancer is a term that's used to describe many different types of cancer that can affect your blood, bone marrow or lymphatic system. It happens when something goes wrong with the development of your blood cells. Different types of blood cancer include lymphoma, leukaemia, myeloproliferative neoplasms and myeloma.
There are lots of possible signs and symptoms of blood cancers such as:

  • bruising excessively
  • bleeding
  • swelling in neck, under your arms or in your groin
  • back pain
  • being tired all of the time 
  • having recurring infections

Different types of blood cancer affect different types of cells in the blood and that is why symptoms can be so different.
Treatments may involve chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy, stem cell transplant, venesection or blood transfusion support.
