It allows you to book an appointment with the service when required. It ensures that you and other patients have access to care when you/they need it, without having to attend follow up appointments when you are well.

Open Access directs valuable clinical time when and where it is most needed most.

Most patients who are newly diagnosed will remain in the service for two years to make sure your condition is stable and you are managing the impact of your condition on your daily life. After two years and in agreement with your doctor or rheumatology health professional, you may be considered for Open Access. Discuss this with your health professional if you think this might apply to you.
