Gynaecology services

Our team of nursing and medical staff are committed to providing a high standard of gynaecology services across all of NHS Fife. The service aims to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological conditions for the women of Fife.

We offer a wide range of specialised gynaecology services to the women of Fife.

Inpatient services

Located at Victoria Hospital and include early pregnancy, abortion services, emergency gynaecology clinic/triage and elective surgery.

Outpatients services

Also located at Victoria Hospital with additional facilities at Queen Margaret Hospital and St Andrews Hospitals (not all services are available at every area) Outpatient services include: Colposcopy, Minor Surgery, Infertility, Menopause, Urogynaecology, Gynaecology and Oncology.

Please see your GP in the first instance with any Gynaecology concerns. If required a referral to our service can be made by your GP.

Referral routes

You can access all gynaecology services listed via your GP or NHS24.

Routine referral

Referral via your GP is through an online referral process.

Emergency referral

These will take place via your GP/NHS24 through the Gynaecology on call medical team who are based at the Victoria Hospital for emergency referrals for an emergency triage clinic appointment. If urgent, an out of hours assessment may be needed in the inpatient Gynaecology ward.
