Pain can have far reaching consequences on all aspects of life including physical, psychological and social function. Our care pathway may involve working with skilled professionals from Consultants, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Pharmacy. It may include 1:1 therapies and/or group programmes.
More importantly, we will help you to have a better understanding of your pain and some of the non-medication factors which can help to improve your quality of life.
The first assessment appointment helps patients to set realistic goals and expectations, and prepares them for working with the other professionals within the service. The prime aim of work within our team is to support patients towards a better quality of life in the presence of pain.
For a brief introduction and overview of the Fife Pain Management Service, why not let the Pain Bear tell you about our service?
Referrals to the Pain Management Service can come from any NHS healthcare professional who believes that we can assist you in line with our referral criteria. If we think you would benefit from the service, we will organise an appointment with you.
